Selling Overseas
« on: November 06, 2011, 04:53:00 PM »
Does anyone have any experience selling bows to someone in Europe?  I have a bow for sale and a guy in France is interested.  Just not sure if there are special shipping regulations, etc. that I need to pay attention to.  Thanks!

Many countries restrict what can be shipped into them. The USPS web site has a list for it all, here is France:  http://pe.usps.com/text/imm/fh_005.htm

France was OK last time I shipped, Germany was not, you have to check each country individually-has nothing to do with US. 3 pc bows are OK in some countries-1 pc can be a real pain due to box length. Get paid by int'l Paypal in any case.
Sooner or later the buyer will ask you to lower the value declaration on the customs form to reduce taxes-you will havta' decide.
Problems are generally customs duties, taxes, shipping costs, insurance and restrictions.
Make sure it is worth it to YOU before you even start.
