Have an oppurtunity to get a Bear Kodiak Magnum, 1970s type, 40@28. Here is myy concern, I draw 30" even and I shoot a lot. Am I wastingmy money or can tyhis bowhandle that draw. BTW I shot the bow and it shoots great, pulling about 46 lb at my 30" draw. Throws 2016 full length like darts. What do you think?

I have a friend that has a 29" draw and he loves his, he's shot it for quite a few years.

All I can tell you is from my own experiences.
Basically it'll be a timebomb. I'm sure it'll be fine for a while, but at some point, maybe on shot 10, maybe on shot 10,000, it will give out on you.
Those short bows just don't handle a long draw well. Much over 28", especially on a 52" bow, is really pushing it's limits.
I draw 31" & I've blown up enough short bows to know that I'm not going to shoot any more!

I am shooting a 70's era Magnum this season. I draw 29" and at first I was concerned. The bow seemed to "bottom out" at my draw length. But then I got used tonit and have found the feeling of the bow at full draw to actually help with my shooting. Kind od a "clicker" of sorts. Now on this bow, I take comfort in that feeling and it seems to help settle me into my anchor.

I am not with the "time bomb group" maybe they have had a bad experience,, but bows blow up all of the time various different lengths, draws, makers etc.. If the bow is solid, free of defects etc, I say go for it.. You yourself said it shot great.
