This is one of Fred's Hyak model's, a slight df/rf Longbow.. She makes a beautiful "D" when strung.

This one is 64" and draws 51#@28.. Notice the 13 laminations that make up the riser.  Many of these taper out right in the riser section.  Along with these are 4 more lams. in the overlays on the belly and one on the back..

She's IMO, a Beauty, very quick, quiet, and light in the hand.

A nice view of the riser "Lay-up".. Fred used Yew on the belly footed with maple in the riser area and black glass on the back.. It has the "finest tips" I have ever seen on a bow.

Wow! Very nice. I like everything about that one.

Fred is a fellow member of TBW [ Traditional Bowhunters of WA. ]  I have spent a few hours sitting and talking with him while he's autographing and selling his latest traditional archery books... When making bows, I think he actually named everyone he built.  I once had another Hyak he had named "Autumn Walker". The one above he named "Hoodo Honey" I think having in mind the beautiful Yew on the belly.
