What if you're reading, and a 160" buck is moving through the woods about 75 yards to your left?

You'd never know to move your stand over there to his trail.

If your reading Playbuck magazine then you flash him the centerfold doe and stop him in his tracks till you get over to shoot him...LOL

Me - I read the sign: wind, cover, sound, sight.  That's enough for me.  I'm not in the dentist office.

iPhone with books recorded or music. Can't stand the thought of them appearing any less expected than they already do.

S0me times I read in my OL' Man tree stand, if the wind is not blowing and the leafs are dry. I tie a nail apron across the front bar , it holds my paper back and a Snickers.

Another vote for reading in the woods. I enjoy it, usually its a bible and reading something to think about. A hunting journal is another good way to pass the time.

I have a nook all decked out in ASAT camo.  Read all the time.  I hang my pack on the tree and either drop it in there or lay it on the treestand seat.  Sometimes when I hunt not even the squirrels are moving.

Sometime I don't read but a couple of pages but I always carry it along.

I'm an avid reader (non-fiction, war) but sorry, no reading during the hunt for me.

There are few places I feel closer to God than in the woods with a bow in my hand.  Personally, there's no better place to read Scripture; no cell phones, tv's, traffic, yard work...  I look forward to time in my Bible while sitting in a tree or in a ground blind.
I use my seat or the ground if something approaches.

I carry a back pack  with me and hang it from my stand. The main pocket stays open so I can drop it in .

I generally read when it is slow or when I am antsy.  I can stay in the stand an extra hour or two past when I might normally get down easily if I have a book.  Like others, I slip it into a pack when I need to.

I read a llttle bit while on stand. Use my phone to read. Mostly I log onto tradgang while in my stand. Keeps me up to date on how you are all doing. Plus my wife likes to text me once in a while to see that I'm OK. Gives her peace of mind, or maybe she's hopeful I'm not coming home? ?? Either way I stick it in the pocket of my safety vest if something comes. Always on vibrate.

Reading, sleeping, eating, etc. Not me, I go to the woods to hunt and don't want to miss a second of it.

That's exactly how I feel.     One huge thing I enjoy about hunting is spending time with God, what better way to do that than read His word and pray.   :campfire:

I used to bring my son hunting with me a few years back until he lost interest. But I would set him up in blow down not far from where I was sitting so I could keep an eye on him from about 15 yards away. Well one time while he was reading a book a doe came to about 10 feet from where him and scared the crap out of him because he was so into what he was reading. I sat and watched the whole thing unfold and it was all pretty funny.

I read if I'm going to be on stand a long time (all day) and I start getting fidgety, read a page then look around, read a page look around, repeat...............helps get through the "dead" times of the day. Just slip it in y open pack if I catch movement in the woods.......
Bowhunting is "KILL and EAT" not "Catch and Release".....Semper Fi!
