Matching a bow to existing arrows
« on: July 14, 2007, 09:09:00 PM »
Yeah, I know this is backwards, but about what poundage bow at 29" would you need to shoot 30" axis 340's with 200gr up front.  I know there is a million factors in this, just looking for some generic answers.  55#? more less??  Thanks.

You would need a high performance recurve cut well past center and it would have to be around 72#s at 29 inches if not a tad more. If ya upped the point weight to 275 grains ya may get away with around 69#s. This is only close estimate. I know that to shoot a .400 deflection ya need the same type of bow around 63-65#s and 200-225 up front for the same length arrow. Shawn
