Colorado outfitter's camp.

The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

I made my own tarp from silnylon fabric purchased from owareusa.com

You can buy them premade from them or many other places.  Do a search for "silnylon tarp"

Part of the allure of tarp camping is less separation from the natural environment.  Critters don't bug me except skeeters.

Although I did have a bee set up camp under my tarp this year and when I knelt on him (accidentally) he stung me.

Gotta love the hammock!
I like the minimalist tarp setup as well. I use a similar setup on canoe trips, but like your mini tent under the "big top". All good camps on view.
