Question for the strap on users...
« on: November 27, 2011, 02:29:00 PM »
Get your mind out of the gutter...

I'm curious how much they effect arrow impact. I recently tried out my new longbow and shot lights out (HAPPY_HAPPY_JOY_JOY) but when I put my GN strap on on her (on the riser about 1" from the fade outs)I instantly noticed a big difference on how much quieter it was but my arrows now all hit 12" left. Could it be the weight throwing me off or is the quiver hindering the bows performance and causing the shafts to be stiff?

How do I fix this?

LOL...very good title....made me laugh!

As for the rest, no clue.  I hate having my quiver mounted to my bow.  Throws off the balance and creates heqdaches.

You definitely need to tune your bow with the quiver on. Your arrows will fly stiffer with the quiver on compared to how they fly with it off.

Other than than, for me it just comes down to shooting with the quiver on (I never take mine off). The balance of your bow is different, and takes some getting used to.

As A.S. wrote, the mass of the quiver affects how the bow reacts at the shot and you will generally need a lower dynamic spine; five lb is usually enuf.  The quick fix is to go to a heavier point, 30-40 grains.

I strap mine on at the fade outs and notice very little difference.

I havent noticed any difference, I miss equally with a quiver on or off. I would guess some bows would perform different though.

I strap mine to the riser-no difference in tuning.

I find it hard to concentrate when I am wearing my strap-on so it does effect my accuracy, when its on my bow it helps with balance and for me makes the bow deader in my hand and makes me more accurate and you definitely should tune with it on!!      :bigsmyl:  Shawn
