Late Season Ks/Ok Hunt
« on: November 30, 2011, 03:05:00 PM »
Well I just found out there is a good chance I'll be headed to Wichita, Ks Jan 6-13 for work. I'm thinking about packing the bow and leaving a few days early to do a little hunting. I haven't looked into it too much but assume there is no way to get a tag in Ks at this point. So I'm thinking about hitting some public land close by in northern Ok. Regardless I'm looking forward to the trip. If any of you hunt this area let me know, I have a few questions concerning terrain/tree types.

If your looking for a buck in Kansas the season closes 12/31. We do have an extended doe season that starts 1/1.

I don't mind taking a doe but may hunt Ok just to keep my options open.

Thanks LL, I've been looking at that area as a potential starting point. Do you recommend a ground blind or can I get by with lock-on/LW sticks?

Not sure you can get just a doe tag anyway.  I think NRs have to purchase the either sex tag first before they are allowed the doe only.  Check me on it- been wrong before.
