All I read here tells me you're a dead-eye...
And we all know that the arrow falls where the bird does, right?
You'll just use them beacon arras to find your downed quail, ain't?

Doc,
If you would have seen my shooting at a turkey a few hours ago, you would know that I am no dead eye. It wasn't pretty.

Let us know how you do. And if you come across and old guy with a yellow lab and a 20 gage that could be me. I can't hit them with a shotgun let alone a bow.

You may see them ion the Challa thicket but chose not to go after them.
Its like that in our mulitfloral rose thickets.
I am fixing up some arrows for my nephew (age 4). They will have the ugly arrow contest beat!
I will post pics when done.

Yeah, prickly pears are child's play compared to those dang jumping cactus.
RonL, I might see you out in the desert. I will be out around Queen Valley. Lots of those little running quail out there.

As promised. Here are my uglies. I fixed up some old arrows that were laying around, painted them with paint I already had and fletched them with feathers which were generously offered by a fellow tradganger Statedriller. Thank you. They will go great with his new bow for Christmas.
Capped with Blaze Orange. Crested with Blue and Black. Fletched with green an white.
Oddly enough, I actually like them

Man, there isn't a clump of grass those arrows will be able to hide in... :D

Figured Oliver, age 4 will be digging these out of the grass. Not only were they CHEAP but they will do, until I can make him some nice ones in a year or so.
He will be shooting at balloons from 10 yards or less for the winter.
Everytime he goes to Grandpas he asks to shoot the bows. Albeit his attention span is short, he seems to love it.

Can you imagine if we'd have gotten into this at that young age! Wow! We'd either be wore down to a nub or darned good at it by now!
Excellent.
When they slither under the grass, don't matter how bright they are...but in the leaf duff, it does help!
I kinda like them... like some of those fancy pheasants, eh?
