Experience with Rivers West rain gear?

I'm considering buying some.  Anyone have any of this stuff, and if so, how do you like it?  Would like to see pix if you have it in the new Mossy Oak Brush or the Digital Confusion.  To me, the Mossy Oak Break up looks too dark for where I hunt.

Bought a set for a Blacktail hunt in  Alaska last year.  Wore it the entire hunt and loved it.  It is tough and sheds water extremely well.  It also seemed to breathe nicely.  Lots of ups and downs on Kodiak Island and I never seemed to get clammy.  It is warm though. I did end up taking the jacket off occasionally while traversing the hills.    If you hunt in really cold weather it would be right up your alley.  I also would get the set that has the zippered ventilation for those times of peak activity.  All in all, I loved it.  Will be wearing it this fall and winter in Missouri.

Borrowed a buddy's for a Jan deer hunt here in MT.  Worked great in the cold and snow, even waded the river without getting wet.  The neoprene velcro cuffs worked great.  I did have to use the vents on the pants to keep from overheating.  Good stuff for cold weather or stand hunting but would probably be too hot for me for a run and gun Sept. elk hunt.  Although my buddy wore his last Sept. and got along just fine.

Good info.  Were you folks using the regular weight gear?  They also make a lightweight version, which is what I'm leaning toward for elk hunting in September.

Jerry, yes i was using regular weight.  IMO the light weight would be better in Sept.

I purchase some of the regular weight pants and coat (they didn't even have a lightweight set advertised then) a couple of years ago.  I have used them almost exclusively ever since I purchased them!  I have a $400 K.O.M. jacket that I purchased before I bought the Rivers West, but I like the R.W.better than the K.O.M.  I have stood all day in pouring winter rain two winters ago, setting up for an ice fishing contest we hold each year in February and never got wet through!  It does not let the wind blow through and it sheds water like a duck!  I also use my R.W. all winter long for rabbit hunting and I can tell you, it gets a lot of abuse!  NO problems!  My particular set wouldn't be good in warmer weather though, and I have no experience with the light weight set.  But, I will definitely recommend this stuff to anyone!

Isn't this Rivers West stuff guaranteed to be dry for 10 years? id this the same stuff? I've been eyeballing it myself for that reason, but can't get by the price yet....Spendy stuff!

I bought the basic Back Country Jacket and Back Country Pant last year to see if I like it.

I recommend it, but other models might work better:  

It's not as quiet as wool or fleece (think "fleece-lined light-weight neoprene"), but it also doesn't absorb water, and is warm (I can drop two layers of clothing).  It doesn't stink when wet, and is machine washable and dryable (even air-drying is pretty quick when wrung out).  The stuff is burr-proof, stretchy, totally windproof,

...and TOTALLY waterproof... which means the material doesn't breathe well.  If it was more breathable (even by adding more vents), then I would like it alot more.  If you try it out, definitely get the lightweight (L.A.W.) stuff, and get a model with as much ventilation zippers as possible.

If I were buying again, I would try the L.A.W. Lakota Jacket or Stalker Jacket, and the Stalker Pants.

P.S.  
The snap at the waist zipper is weak, and should be beefed up, and I don't know how the material responds to flame yet...

Thanks for the information folks! Anything beats what I've owned in that expensive "other" brand of breatheable stuff which I've found the seams break down, leak, and you still get clammy for a lot of clams!

Too hot for me. I could only use it for cold weather. Stays dry .
