I have a question to ask you guys. Did Doug Kittredge make recurve bows? It seems when I was younger around 8 or so I seem to recall my uncles talking about Kittredge bows or was it just too long ago and I was 8? Just curious.

Hey, I have the 82-83 Kittredge too. Except for the prices, a lot of "our" stuff looks the same.
The bows with wheels are what have really changed.
Also have an Arizona Archery (or is it Arizona Arrows?) from the 80s. First time I remember seeing anything about FOC. Seemed like pretty radical technical stuff back then.

helo, I believe that Doug's bows were actually made by Damon Howatt. Howatt made bows for several large archery shops/mail order supply houses that had their own name put on them. I had a bow from East Side Archery in Chicago that they called the Nimrod TD, Jim Dougherty Archery called the same bow by a different name and Kittredge called it something else (at 66 my mind don't remember so good
). All the same bow however. Howatt sold it as the HTD (Howatt Take down) Those were great days, man.

LOL...I remember a dark haired Canadian posing with a large black bear in that Catalog...my O my...have we aged gracefully or what?
The one piece Kittredge I shot was the same blank that Jack Howard offered...same with the Kittredge T/D..based off Damon Howatt/Martin. Check out those Forgewood Battleshafts...I bought all mine in the Sky Blue color...
Kittredge and Herters catalogs were the best ever.

I still have one of those Klean Kill Broadhead sharpeners/pullers. I need to search through my hunting gear to find it. Its funny that you mentioned that because I was thinking of this tool last week and wondering where it is. Now I have to really search and find it.

Good thread, I can remember drooling over the that catalog along with the Bow Hut and Felines. And of course that Herters catalog had something for everyone!

Man! That brings back the memories. It drives home the reality of inflation, too. How'd you like to get today's paycheck and those prices? Wait a minute...the paychecks haven't changed much. Never mind. Grant
