Did a little scouting for elk this past Sunday morning. Saw quite a few. There was even a bull bugling like crazy. Can't wait for late August. Enjoy!

That is some beautiful country! Love those aspens and all the wildflowers...and of course the elk top it off. Thanks for the great pictures. Is this all national forest or BLM land? Looks like they have a spot all dug up to cool down on.

These pics were all on Nat'l Forest land. It was actually drier than normal for this time of year. South facing meadows are already turning brown. Hopefully the rains will pick up a little.

To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

What area are you scouting?
I was scouting area 61 a week ago. I got up there late and left a few hours before dark. Didn't see any elk, lots of sign, but did see three bears.
I have a Sept. bear tag also so I am pretty jazzed!
