Best location of four fletch ?

Hi!
I've started to use 4 fletch and wondering if you have any tip about location of the feathers?
When the arrow is nocked should the feathers be located horizontaly and vertical? ( like a Maltese cross) Or just whatever you get when gluing them in?
It seems like I get some contact with the feathers against the shelf?

depends in the shafts, If You use wood (self-nocks). You can do 90x90 or 60x120. The other shafts (alumn/carbon) You can fix Your nock to get them where You what the fletching to be lined up.

For least interference align them so they make an "X". Either 75X105 or 90 degrees. That's how your fletcher should be putting them on that way anyway.

Like Charlie said. I shoot my arrows fletched with the X at 90 degrees.

I prefer 90 degrees myself and get better clearance then 75x105 although the difference is very slight! For those whose arrows are not tuned as well I guess it could make more of difference.

I do it this way " + "
I index the feathers just slightly clockwise " when looking from the back" to keep the tip of the outermost feather from contacting the shelf.
Haven't had any problems.

I use 75 x 105 and orient the fletch so the outside top fletch is oriented so it is angled about 30 degrees away from the shelf. I have no clearance problems

I use 75x105 with the 105 top and bottom. This makes for very minimal contact or the feather with the bow. I get no feather wear or tracking of the base of the feather on the shelf.
