help with nock low
« on: December 23, 2011, 11:34:00 AM »
Hi All,

I am shooting a 55@28 Hoyt buffalo.  No matter what I do, or how hight I put the nocking point, I am getting a nock low reaction.  I have done everythign, including changing the tiller to weaker and weaker on teh bottom limb to no avail.  I just can't for the life of me figure this out.  I am shooting axis 400s with 150 grain points, and shooting 3 under.  Thanks, Mike

did you try lowering you nock point? It could be to high and giving a false nock low.

Not enough info. Where is your nock setting now?

Those arrows maybe too stiff for your setup and causing some shelf interference giving you false nock readings.  Try a heavier tip weight.  Start at 1in and work your way down and be mindful of maintaining equal finger pressure on the string.  I am shooting mine split finger, 1/8 less tiller on bottom and nock at 9/16. I draw 54# at 27in and shoot a 28in Beman MFX 500 with 100gr inserts and 100gr tips to spine properly off my setup.  I can also shoot 400's but have to leave them at 30in with the same tip weight setup.
They'll be no quitters till we bag us some critters!
