Colorado Drop Camp Archery Hunt

I'm looking at several drop camp outfitters and wondered if anyone has hunted in the following units: unit 71, unit 75 unit 77 and unit 751. Anyone have any experience with CIRCLE K, PEAK TO CREEK,OR HIGHLANDS UNLIMITED. I'm getting references but any input from you guys would be greatly appreciated Thanks

I've hunted those units DIY off and on for 25 years. Plenty of pressure from bowhunters. I'm sure a guy could do well if the camp was in an area that wasn't all boogered up from competition or previous hunters in the same camp.
We have always walked in a couple horses and spiked and moved until we got away from the other hunters and into the animals. Typically with elk, you may have to go 10 canyons to find the one they are in. Just being 10 miles from a TH in Co doesn't guarantee little pressure, but it usually helps.

Call the CO Dept. of Regulatory Affairs and ask about the outfitters. They have an outfitter board that oversee's complaints. Ask the outfitter for past two years of hunters and call them. Check with the BBB for any issues. Call the local Game Warden and ask about the units (he/she may be reluctant to speak about specific outfitters but they should speak alot about pressure, game, number of camps, etc.). I've seen a lot of hunters who have been treated poorly by a few select outfitters...and I've seen a lot who had a great hunt because they asked a lot of questions.

Look at the M lazy C, the owner is Randy Meyers, he is good, but I'm not sure if he is in the areas you are looking at.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.

I would check with Winterhawk outfitters. Larry is awesome to deal with.He hunts the Flattops north of Dotsero. I had the pleasure of hunting with him this past year. Great camp, beautiful location.
