I have had one for around 10 years, I love it. The only thing about mine some might not like is the wrap on the inside brim that rubs on my forehead is a wool material. It can itch somewhat, I wish they would have used a softer mateial. Otherwise I love the hat.

Had the KOM and have the Sleeping Indian. Great hats. The SI has a fleece lining on the flaps that feel much better on my face/ears than wool on the KOM. Its hard to beat for real cold weather.

Check the SI site, they have the northbound hat on closeout at $29, you can't beat it.

I do like it for super cold, but wear a lighter hat while walking in, then change to the bomber when cooling down on stand. I sewed the short brim up with a couple of stitches since I started shooting three under close to my eye. The string would hit even the shortest brim. But with only a couple of stitches, I can break them if the sun is hammering my eyes and pop the brim back down. I dont fold it up on top of my head, I fold it behind my head so I always have cover on the back of my neck.
Bishop has a great tip, I'll be checking the site! Thanks!

I've had one for several years, very warm.  I do like YORNOC and leave the ear flaps together over the back of the hat, gives you double warmth where it really helps, on the back of your neck/head.  Definitely a cold weather hat though, combined with a neck gaiter it's good cold weather gear.

I always throw mine in the pack if I'm walking any distance. They will burn you up walking in. Great tip!

The berber fleece question was meant for the KOM hat.

I have both the Hidden Wolf (HW) and KOM bombers and love them both.  The KOM is warmer (almost too warm) and a lot bulkier, I rarely use it unless the temperature below zero.  I anchor with my thumb behind my jaw bone, at the base of my ear, so the bulky KOM flaps affect my anchor.  Like others mentioned it is more comfortable to pin the flaps behind the neck but with my anchor it is still in the way.  The HW is thin enough that I am able to snap the flaps closed in the front and still achieve a good anchor.  The KOM is wind proof and the HW has wind stopper, so breaking the wind with either one is not a problem.  With the HW I wear a light weight balaclava under and a heavy wool watchman cap on top, when need.  With the KOM only the balaclava is needed.  In addition, the use of a neck gaiter makes a huge difference in maintaining one’s body heat, my favorite is either a silk scarf or the Kuiu merino wool gaiter.  I forgot, this year I used the Kuiu wool beanie under the HW, without the watchman’s cap, and it worked really well, but the temperatures only got to negative digits a couple of times.   Most likely, the watchman’s cap would have been needed if the temperature had dropped much lower.

Have you ever noticed how many layers of hats Mike Mitten wears while hunting?  If you think about it, there is probably good reason for it, the layering allows one to regulate the heat better.

My final thoughts: They are both great products and you won’t go wrong with either one.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

I have both KOM and GW, I like the GW better the KOM is thicker but the GW is better made and better thought out, it has snaps apposed to just Velcro.

The KOM "Bomber" is an excellent hat, but I only get to wear mine a couple of times each year. Just not cold enough in Texas and Oklahoma during the archery season. That is not a bad thing, however, from my perspective. Might not wear it often but not willing to get rid of it.

Thanks everybody for your input. I went with the Gray Wolf hat.    It sounded like the KOM might be to heavy for my needs.

I have the KOM bomber and do not like the velcro fastener on the ear flaps.  Mine never stays fastened for long and is a constant annoyance.

I love mine.  When I have it on I can take one layer off because it is so warm.

Got my Gray Wolf hat today. What service! Ordered it Tuesday night. What a hat! Was going to wear it tomorrow but to warm. I'll have to wait for our January season.
