Fletchin removal and arrow cleanup

I'm wondering if there are better methods to remove fletching and clean up arrows before re-applying new feathers.  The last time I did this I simply scraped off the glue with a knife.

There is an interesting article in the new TBM about the use of shrink tubing to prepare the fletch area for refletching. Pretty clever.

I forgot to mention - the arrows in question are made of ash.

Don't laugh at me for saying this but I did read somewhere that a potato peeler works well on carbons and aluminum shafts. I have not tried it yet. Waiting for the "Boss" to turn her head so I can borrow one of hers so I don't get hit when I take it. lol

I have gold tip carbon arrows and just stick them in a bottle with paint thinner, takes everything off.The first time I used a feather remover, meesed up the arrow.

Try fletching tape. Works great and very easy removal.
