diy arrow spine tester? any help?
« on: December 27, 2011, 02:44:00 PM »
Been researching info on building an arrow spine tester. I found a design I like but the directions are kind of sketchy. If anyone has ever made one based on the one "two jays" has, please help. Pictures would be great. Here's a link   http://www.bambooarrow.com/tester.html   Mainly having trouble with dial and needle assembly. Thanks!   :banghead:      :banghead:

Google "James Hill Spine Tester". That's the one I built.

Hey Pat, I looked at that one, and like it better, but was confused about which guage to get. Any ideas?

Here is the one I built with the 2 jays plans. It is really simple. The hardest part I figured out for you was to print the scale at 142% to get the little line to equal exactly 2". Then the rest is easy.

Any 1" dial indicator will work. Here is one from MSC.

I used a dial indicator I got from Grizzley for $10. You need it to read from 0" to 1".
