Hoyt Buffalo Help
« on: December 31, 2011, 01:12:00 PM »
I got a new hoyt buffalo from santa for christmas and have a question for you guys. I actually shot this bow before santa bought it but the proshop had very little traditional knowledge.

What would the adjustments be for 3 under?

Thanks

Start with about 1/8th" more tiller (distance from top of riser to string) on the top limb..shoot with a very relaxed grip..up close...dont aim or anything..concentrate all focus on form taking note if the top limb kicks back at you at the shot or if it stays stable...you want stable..add more tiller to the top as needed.

Hey Jenk so your saying that if the top limb kicks back alittle with 3 under you can adjust the tiller alittle and this will fix the kicking problem?  Thanks Mike

Yep...but this can also be dependent upon the bows grip design and the individual shooters grip style..ranging from high wrist to low wrist or anywhere inbetween can have a dramatic affect on adjusting tiller for stability at the shot..but what your looking for is a balanced limb reaction where they cancel each other out at the shot so the bow just sits pretty.

Hope that helps.

Rule of thumb for three under is that the tiller should be the same for each limb (AKA  "zero tiller").
