What are yall thinking about the season this year .  it opens on the 25th,. I have always went open day .but was hoping to roll it back a week. Hoping that the bulls would be bugling more.

Go whenever you can go and for as long as you can afford.  Bugling elk are as much fun to hunt for me as anyone else but I seem to have much better luck actually killing them early in the season when they are not herded up with a bunch of cows.  I will start my elk hunting this year the last week of August and will not worry about the elk if they are not bugling much.

That is early but in my area if I wait until the second week I'll have a garbage truck full of obnoxious black powder pucks to deal with.
(not that I'm bitter, tho)

only seven months 2 weeks 2 days and 22 hours.

I'm retired and plan to be in Colorado BEFORE season starts (Lord willing) and will stay as long as it takes... or season ends, or I run out of money, whichever comes first!

I'll be there on the 24th setting up camp and don't plan on leaving until I have one on the ground this year.

Some years are better early and some late. Its whatever for me. Just can't wait to go. Hopefully I draw for my area this year!

Ditto what Mr MO Sherpa said! He's like an Elk Yoda... or Elk ninja... or the Chuck Norris of Elk hunters...lol...

G'day John!...

Still thinking of ways myself to get to CO in 2012.... my roster is kinda full already and it's only Jan!
