Woke up today to big time cold and some snow on the ground from a small storm that passed thru.

The wind was swirling and howling with temps not getting to 20 degrees.  With these conditions I decided it would be a good day for some still-hunting which I don't do very much.

Saw a couple of small bucks on a ridge across a creek bottom but they saw me at the same time.

Went further back into the tract than I usually do and found very promising spot for next year.
Its way back in there but that's probably why it will be a good spot.

All in all it was a good day in the woods and thought I'd post a few pics.

One of a few rubs I ran across

Sat here for a little bit against a big oak taking a break and checking the area out with my binos

Had a really good day with my shootin' even being all bundled up

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

We finally got some snow here in IA, but of course it's two days after the bow season closed.

Might just have to take a walk anyway and see what I can do about some of those squirrels that were cussing me during deer season.    :D

Looks like fun. I miss that kinda stuff growing up in Illinois. Now I live in the city. One day soon I'll be back there.

Good looking area.  Love being on a ridge and looking across an area.  Snow would have really helped spot deer moving.  Thanks for sharing.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Love hunting or just being out when it snows. Something peaceful about it to me.

Don't know about braver Bryant, my wife called it stupidity...I told it was a beautiful day.

Tomorrow is gonna be my last shot at it this season.  We'll see what happens.
