Another sparrowhawk finds a home- Ol' Darkie
«

Got an email from Vince yesterday saying my bow should arrive today. He called it Ol' Darkie, and I think I'll keep the name. I asked for bamboo lams and veneers, and wanted darker bamboo veneers so as not to stand out too much in the woods. Got dark cocobolo riser and overlays and black bombproof tips. 64" long takedown and 54#@28"(57#@29"). Gotta work today, but will try to get out tomorrow for the last day of deer season. I'm not psychic, but I see some hogs in this bows future.

Sweet! Looks like a Pig Killer to me. I've heard that Vince adds the MOJO and sights them in for free!

It's my first mohawk, and I will say that I am happy that I got the 64" version. Very smooth. Got it mostly tuned, and will put it through more of it's paces tomorrow. My decision to get this bow was the recommendations/praise by a couple of notable tradgangers. I don't think they steered me wrong.

Patrick, Vince told me about your bow. I couldn't wait to see it. It was worth the wait. Great Dirty Boo Veneers! I'd like to get a 66" Sparrowhawk in the near future myself. That will make 4 that I own. A 62" and 2-64"er's Love everyone of them. Good Luck and Good Hunting with her. I was out this morning with Bamboo and Southpaw. Saw some does no shots but a good morning anyway.

I don't think they were stained, Dave. I could be wrong, but, Vince said he had some really dark tonkin boo, and I think that he used that. Great camo effect.
Glad you got to see some deer, Tom. Next time. Tell the guys I said Hi.
RC, I'll bring it with me when I come down there. Couple of hawks roaming the swamps. Maybe yours can teach mine a thing or two.
