1952 & 1953 Bear Grizzly Static Recurves - Brace Height?

I was wondering if someone with experience with these bows could provide me with some brace height information to work with?

Also, if anyone has any shooting/using advice particular to these bows I would appreciate it (besides B50 strings & practice, practice, and more practice     ).

I'd like to see some pictures of these bows. Today I see static tips at horsebows only.

I have several Grizzlies from the early 50's, have hunted with them, and shot them a lot. 6 1/2- 3/4 is a good brace height. Use a heavy arrow or you may get a bit of feedback from the bow. Very fun bow to shoot; you will feel like the arrows are going down range at a blistering speed.

Thanks, I will use your brace recommendations as a starting point (and a heavy arrow).  Once I fully get them set up to shoot I may have to wait until spring or the right day as I have been advised by two individuals that they wouldn't recommend using them in really cold weather.

Thanks for the information.  I had done some searches but had come up empty on anyone mentioning a brace height figure.

I read the thread you started, does John Brooks still build bows?
