Any Dark Archer shooter/fans?
« on: January 17, 2012, 10:45:00 PM »
Hello Gang,Wanting critiques on how the dark archers shoot.Have always shot 62" bows. The one im looking at is 60".Im a huge Bob Lee fan and Howatt fan due to small hands and how they fit my bow hand especially as well as being smooth and fast.I pull all bows under 65#s a full 29"Do you think I would like this bow that is 54#@28 and a 60" bow?Curious.Apreciate any feed back as I ve been wanting one of these since they came out.

I have one that I use for bowfishing.  Its 54" 65@28.  I think the grip is really nice but it doesnt feel like the smoothest bow to me.  It is probably the length and the fact that I shoot a fish arrow out of it.  It is a tough as nails bow though

I love my Bob Lee bows-- the grip is super for a smaller hand as you note. However, I got a 54" BL recurve for use in a blind and it was not as smooth as my other longer bows, and I could feel the stacking through the draw. 60" should be perfect for you--I find that anything 58" or more is silky smooth from Bob Lee.

You don't need another bow.

I have a 58" that I shoot OK. Its more the "FF" syndrome affecting my release than the bow itself. Anything shorter and I really cant keep consistant at all (FF=FAT FINGERS)..................YMMV.........

Interesting,Im really kindof wanting one of these for a tree stand bow,as my other longer ones can get a bit combersome.

2 inches will not make very much difference in how a bow handles in a tree stand. I find that a 62" deflex/reflex longbow handles the best for me for any condition.

I have a Bob Lee 54" Hunter recurve that is 52@28. It is very smooth and shoots great. It's real handy in a ground blind or tree stand also while still hunting. The only problem I have with it is finger pinch, but to get around that I shoot with two under and just don't use my index finger.  Philip
