adding weight!?!?

I was wondering what is the best way to add weight to my XX75, 2219 classic shaft, I want to shoot them from my 72# longbow, and with 160gr up front, they weight in at around  630gr I would like to add at lest 100gr to the set up? I use mainly glue on head, BH and Field points that are 160 to 175gr. so I use 5 degree taper glue on inserts.

So do you think that the woody weight would do good? If not what do you suggest!

So far, they bare shaft really good at 6 yards(max I can shoot indoor) with 160gr field point on a 5degree taper glue on adapter.

I use woodyweights on my wood arrows and im sure theyd work fine with the glue on inserts on aluminum but they will make your arrows weaker. If you use them you will probably have to cut your arrows down or go to a stiffer spine. If they are shooting good but you need more weight you might could try a weight tube or just regular plastic tubing inside the shaft. That way you divide the weight over the length of the shaft and not just at the front.  Hope this helps

If you use the Woody Weight or any other 100 gr weight on the front of the shaft,it will weaken your spine by as much as 20#'s.Some internal weight should work.The weight tubes are sized for carbon shafts so would be a little loose in yours.That might create noise.I'm not sure.Some use aquarium tubing or various types of rope.I would want to bareshaft a lot farther out before really nailing everything down.

Thank you for the info! Look like I would need 2317.... I guess I could use those 2219 with my PSAV 55# at my draw, with 160gr up front. What do you think??

David,how much do you draw?I want my shaft at my draw lenght ,so when the BH tuchs the riser it is like a clicker and I can have a stiffer arrow too.IMHO it is useless to have too long shafts if not for spine reasons.

To tell you the truth,I think if you get those arrows tuned to shoot well,that weight arrow on that bow would be more than enough for any moose in your country.I like heavy arrows myself but you have a lot of bow there and good arrow weight.

You could try different size rope or cord (I found parachute cord added 90grains)

cacciatore, I have a 30" draw with that bow, the arrows are 30.5" from nock valley to end of shaft( back of point...

I just went to the hard wear store, bought a role of 1/4" poly tubing, for $5, and cut a length that fit snug from one end to the other and put 160gr up front, and it scale in at 798gr bare shaft. The arrows fly just as well to 6 yards( as far as I can shoot right now in the house). I'm just trying to shoot over 10gpp...

I've used  2216 aluminum to strengthen carbon arrows for stumping( three inches long) .In reverse would you have some damaged carbons around, just trim a piece and check the weight to 100 grns and glue inside the aluminum shaft.

Thank you Maxx, but I don't have  carbon(other than some grizzly sticks) but I could glue some of that poly tubing in shorter length, if wanted less weight?!?!
I will play with it.
