Congratulations.   I've had shoulder problems too and they're incredibly painful.

There was a thread on here the other day that showed guys and their kills that were taken with bows less than 50 #.   I shoot up to 56 and don't have any problems but I have several bows in the mid 40s and they're much more in line with what my 61 year old small shoulders like.    Watch that pain....it's telling you something.

Not sure that hurt is good. Why not stay in the 40#'s. I too am battling different injuries that go with being 60, so I know the desire to get back at it but ease into it and don't jepordize that right shoulder.

I agree with the other guys, that pain is telling you something. Dont let ego drive you to surgery #7. Unless you are hunting giant critters like say Asian or Cape Buffs a 45-50lb bow will do all you need. Fred Eichler just pulled off the North American Super Slam with no more than 55lbs. Better to hunt and kill for many more years using 45lbs than to be done in no time shooting 55 or 60 IMHO.

I have to agree with whats been said already , you don't need that much weight for deer sized game.

IMHO..Advances in bows and arrows are remarkable. I think that matching the arrows of today with your bow is more impt than weight of bow. I know a guy in PA. who sent an arrow completely through a deer this year with a 40# bow. Save your shoulder and drop down to 40-50 #.
