Spine ? Carbon Express and 45 Pound Recurve.....

Doing some bare shafting......I'm shooting both a Great Plains B-Model, one-piece and a Dalaa.  Both are 45# and seem to like the same arrow.  The specs are:  29.5" CE Heritage 150 with a 125 g field point.  I draw a little over 28".  Does this arrow/bow combination sound right to you?    :confused:  

I thought it sounded a little on the stiff side.  What do you think?

Quite a bit stiif, I shoot the same arrow out of my 54# at my 28.5" draw RER Arroyo and I need 175 up front for perfect flight. I would think you will need at least 225 up front for perfect flight. It varies some but not much, depending on your release and such. They make a 100, plain black that would be perfect for ya with 150-175 up front, but it would be a little light. Shawn

It all depends on how you shoot and centershot of the bows.I would have no trouble shooting that arrow from most of my 45lb bows and a couple of 42lbers.Others shooting the same bow might need more point weight.If it is working for you it is the right arrow.jmo

I shot 35-55 cut to 29" with 175 gr tips.
The thunderstorm se shoot great out of the bow.

My Assenheimer (46# @ 28) flings CE 150's cut to 29.5" w/145 gr points just great. I draw 28". When I originally bareshafted the 150's, I set them up with field points that weighed about the same as my snuffers (150gr screw-ins), and then cut the bare shafts to fly about 5% weak for that bow.
Surprise--those same shafts also fly great off a much faster Horne 50# @ 28" bamboo/carbon 1 pc Mountain Bow (yep-that one!).
Both Mr. Leonard and Mr. Wrenn know their stuff.  I was just throwing in my $.02 worth.

My Savannah needs almost 250 up front with a 30" CE 150.

Thanks for the replies.  For some reason I always seem to need a stiffer spine.  I think I read something in one of Asbell's books where a friend of his always needed a much stiffer spine.  I guess it depends on the individual style.
