Glue?

I did a search and didn't find what I'm looking for so thought I'd ask. What glue works best to glue broadheads on to steel inserts?

Hot melt or epoxy

I prefer the low temp hot melt as I like to fiddle/change things around a lot, but if you want the strongest bond two part epoxy is the way to go.

Be sure to clean both the inside of the broadhead and the adapter with Iso Alcohol or something similar prior to installing.

If you never want to remove them from the insert then JB Weld that's what I use other than that all the suggestions work.

Call Mike at The Nocking Point (sponsor) and have him send you some Hunt Bond. It's a hot melt but unlike ferril tite it never gets brittle. The absolute best stuff I have found.

I use Devcon two part epoxy. It will break its bond with some heat from a propane torch if you ever want to remove insert.

Thanks, I think I'll give the Hunt Bond a try. I've used JB Weld and epoxy both work but there a pain if you want to tweek your bhs.

if yer into tweaking, hot melt.

if not, any quality 2 part slow set epoxy (NOT the 5 minute type).

I personally prefer hot melt and this is why:  I like to stump shoot in addition to hunt and other target shooting.  Once in awhile, I shoot at a stump that my arrow doesn't like to come out of.  If I pull too hard on the arrow, with a low-temp hot-melt glue, the broadhead will seperate from the shaft of the arrow without damaging the arrow itself.  I have never had a broadhead/arrow failure yet hunting using this stuff and I just use a "crafters" glue.  When I used to use epoxy and other "hard" adhesives, I would get either damaged shafts or a broadhead failure.  This is just my $0.02 worth but I am done using any glue that gets hard once it's set accordingly.
