Vapor Carbonwood spine??
« on: January 25, 2012, 06:00:00 PM »
I have Vapor Carbonwood 2000s, and I'm looking for replacements.  Are Goldtip 3555 and Carbon Express 90's equilvalent?  Any help is appreciated......  DB

I have some Carbonwood 2000's and love them, still wish they made them.  They are .500 spine and weigh 8.2 gpi.  A GT 3555 Trad arrow is .500 spine and weighs 8.6 gpi.  I shoot CE 150 Heritage shafts too, they are .487 spine and weigh 10.0 gpi. In my experience, I have found that my Carbonwood 2000's and a GT 3555 Trad bareshaft tune the same at the same lengths with the identical weight up front.

Curious – If Carbonwood 2000s are .500 spine deflection, and 3000s are .400 spine deflection, I assume the 4000s are .300 spine deflection???

Thanx for any input…

Carbonwood 2000 are .500 spine,3000 are .400,4000 are .350 and the 5000 are .300.Carbon Express 90 are .530 and GT 35/55 are .500.There is also Beman Bowhunter ICS 500 that are a .500 spine. They all use the same componets like nocks and inserts except the CE 90.

I was a huge carbonwood fan....I am sad too that they are no longer available.

I tried a bunch of carbons, some mentioned about and didn't like them for various reasons.

The good news is I have finally found the BEMAN MFXs.  I love them.  I shoot a little heavier bow and use the 340s.  But they do have 500s.  I love the HITS heavy inserts system too.  I frankly wasn't sure I would.  I love them so much, I don't think I would switch back if a miracle happened and carbonwoods came back.
