Heavy Kempf Kwyk Styk
« on: January 30, 2012, 03:11:00 PM »
Picked up Matt Hamilton's old limbs recently, was out shooting with them this afternoon...  Even at a 30" draw these 56" limbs are smooth as silk!  About 20 yards...

31", 640 grain arrow with 300 grain tips...  First arrow of the group was the Big Jim Big-3.  Super limbs, that flat out shoot!  Thanks again Dale!  Wish they matched a bit better, but might put a camo dip of Predator Deception on this bow and the matching grey limbs also...  Or get in touch with Jack and get a riser built for these limbs...

I think I would get a new riser built if it bothered me but I think it's a good looking bow even if they dont match exactly. I tend to grade a bow more on how it shoots rather than looks. I like and can't wait till my name comes up on his list.

Nice....but I would have to hire someone to string it for me....lol!   :goldtooth:  And then hire another guy to shoot it!!

Nice bow.  Are the limbs on the Kwik Styk's and Raven's interchangable by hand or specific ?  I.e., can a KS riser take left or right hand limbs, and can a Raven riser accept lh or rh limbs ?  Been on the list for awhile for a lefty, and am curious.

As far as I know, Right hand and Left hand limbs are specific.  Basically because of the sight window for each...

Oh, and yes, total weight of arrow 640... 8 GPP.  Thinking about getting weight tubes which would put them in the 730 range, but like the way these shoot as is also...

Realized last night that today was the last day of Squirrel season here in Oklahoma...

Went out this morning to see if I could get a squirrel or two while stumping close to the house...  Ran into this barker about 20 minutes into my stroll... about 15 yards off the side of a tree.  Big Jim Big-3 strikes again!

Good shooin' buddy!

I think the bow looks great Jeff, kinda dig the contrast.

How do the curves at the bases of the limbs match up with the riser? Does it blend in well, or are they off a bit?

I think a nice Cocobolo riser of some sort would be awesome with those limbs

Add copperhead skins and it's out of the park!!!

It's kinda growing on me too Curt... Probably more the way it shoots for me then anything.  The limbs match up pretty well asthetically but not perfectly.  The do match up very well as far as straightness goes, which is the most important aspect when matching new limbs to an existing riser...
