which is better, endless loop or flemish twist. considering both performance and arrow speed.Or does it depend on the bow. Just tring to understand the proper use of both types ect.
Comparing apples to apples, it's a matter of personal preferance. I can build a flemish that's faster than an endless, or vice-versa. Same material, same strand count, same serving size and length, etc. the endless will generally be a tiny bit faster.
There's ton's of myths purported about strings--some even in print, some spread by bowyers, some by "old timers"--but press for the "why do you say that" and let me know if you get a straight answer. It's usually "that's what I've always heard".
"Olympic archers use endless" is one I've heard used to claim they are "more accurate".
The best I can find out is the reason Olympic archers use endless is they are easier to reproduce consistently, especially from one string maker to the next.
Nothing wrong with using either one--I have bows with both and I make both. Each has it's benefits over the other, but none are game-changers.
Short answer, use the one you like--it will work just fine. How well the string is made will make more difference than if it's endless or flemish.
