Sierra blanca bow by Jess Stuart
« on: February 07, 2012, 09:59:00 PM »
Hi guys,

I just received my new bow by Jess Stuart. It is based on the Rocky Mt Recurve.  It is 50" 44@26.
The workmanship on this bow it fantastic.  It is a  stained maple and coco bola riser with ash verniers on the limbs. Sheep horn on the back of the riser and limb tips.  Did I mention that this bow shoots?  It shoots very well and is very smooth for a 50" bow.  Jess is a great guy to deal with and I'll probably be getting another one in the future.  Here are some pics.

Jess is fast becoming a master at his craft.

He makes beautiful bows that are as easy to shoot accurately as they are easy on the eye.

But even if he never built a bow I'd want to get the chance to meet him someday because men of his caliber and character don't come along as often as we would like.

God bless, Mudd

Jess should be starting one of his 50" bows for my son for his graduation from Grad School present.  My son had the option of having a custom muzzleloader built by the man who makes the muzzleloaders for the West Virginia University Mountaineer mascot or a custom bow built.  He went with the bow.(GREAT choice!)  Jess has been fantastic to work with and I too hope to have the opportunity to meet him in person as well some day

Beautiful bow, and it appears to shoot every bit as good as it looks.

Congrats  :clapper:

Gosh thanks for all the kind words.  I know you have heard the pictures don't do it justice.  I think it might be the other way around this time.  Rob took absolutely outstanding pictures they are professional quality, certainly wish I had his ability with a camera and shooting ability as well.
I am very glad you like the bow.

I received one of Jess's bows in a swap a couple months back.  Great work and an awesome little bow!  I can't get over how smooth it is for a shorty.  I'll be honest, I haven't had a chance to get it all tuned up with the right arrows, but from the little bit I did shoot it...it is pretty sweet!  Once the weather gets better and after I get caught up a bit (which never seems to happen) I’ll get her tuned up and do some shooting!
I'll try and get some pics later today...Jared

Thanks again Jess!!!

I had one of the original RMR's back in the 80's, great shooting bow, shot my first Mule Deer with it.  But like the rest of them it kept gaining poundage by the year and it finally got so heavy I had to sell it.
Great looking bow, gotta love that sheep horn. RW
