I just looked at a Ben Pearson bow web site I've got book marked, and I found about 5 "Hunters", a Ben Pearson Hunter, a Mercury Hunter, a Superb Hunter, a Flame Hunter and a Hunter II.  They were all made in the 70's.

Just read the post again and notice the "II".  The site mentioned says the Hunter II was made in 1977.
