48#@25" fred bear montana longbow shooting  xx75 2013 arrows tipped with muzzy 3 blade 125 grain broadheads. total arrow weight about 407 grains. will this be enough for deer. i plan on only taking shots 25 yards and in quartering away and broadside.

I think I'd swap out the Muzzys for a cut-on-impact head, but other than that you should be fine, assuming proper tuning.

Ya can keep the muzzy as long as that troctar tip is sharp and new, but I would op for a set of new heads.More than anything I think I would bump out those 2013's and get some 2016,2018's to bump up a little weight

Go with a cut-on-impact 2 blade BH!!!  A Stinger would be great for your setup.

The Muzzy is a great head, but at that short a draw and bow weight, I'd opt for a diff BH.  The arrow weight is fine.

Tuning is more important and with a better bh you'll be eating backstraps for sure.

Those Stingers are a nice bh.

I'd opt for a 2 blade head. If you don't want to sharpen your own, go with a Magnus stinger. Great head !!!

Im using a very similar set up(45#, 2016, magnus stinger 125), and the magnus stingers fly great. A cut on contact head will help with penetration, aka passthroughs. Good luck bro.

agree or take the blades off the broadhead and sharpen the flat points on a fine diamond stone and that point will shave hair!

but try to get the stinger 2- blade buzz-cuts or something thats cut on contact and razor sharp right from the pack as you might not have a nack at sharpening broadheads just yet and there may be other stuff (like hitting that spot) to worry about so yeah 2- blade stingers--> get a extra set of blades because you'll need to take some shots with these broadheads too..

yup it will do but use cut on contact blades stingers -sonics these are 3 blade and are awesome.

Get rid of the muzzys and you will be in great shape.  I killed a deer last year with a 46lb. recurve and got complete penetration using an axis shaft and a 2 blade eclipse.  If you are going to use a 3 blade head then I highly recommend a wensel woodsman.  They are the best penetrating 3 blade head out there.

Good advice from everyone, but I'd personally go with a 4 blade Stinger instead of a two blade. Those Stingers are super sharp, the bleeder blades aren't that big, but I think they will be more help than hinderence to you.

I shot a small forkhorn buck a few years ago with a 40# Shakespeare recurve. I got great penetration with a ribtek and homemade black walnut shafts. I don't know the total arrow weight. All but the feathers on the shaft penetrated the deer.

I feel the ribtek heads may not penetrate like some of the other heads mentioned, just because of thier design. But I feel you shouldn't have a problem with about any cut on contact style head.

Seriously though, I shot a deer with almost exactly the same set up as what your talking about last year(Muzzy three blade 125 grain, overall arrow weight about 425 grains and a 45lb bow).  Unfortunately, the shot was a little off and I did not get much penetration with that set up.  I am switching to a two blade Simmons or Magnus broadhead this year and adding a 100 grain brass insert up front to inrease arrow weight.

Incidentally I saw the same deer several weeks later (non-typical rack)and he looked fine from what I could tell, Thank God.
