self-guided hunting in Argentina?
«

Is this possible? There are tons of outfitters in Argentina, but I just checked under my couch cushions and I'm around $5,000 short. I'd love to do something like the self-guided tahr hunts in NZ some others posted here recently. I don't have a particular species in mind, but I will be in Argentina this summer and would love to do a little hunting. Anyone know anything about this?

I'll be interested in the info you get on this thread. I was bird hunting in Argentina a few years ago and would love to go back for a DIY Red Stag.

I've posted this topic before, and got no responses, so I'm not very optimistic. We'll see...

My wife is going to a conference in Buenos Aires, so I will be there at least part of the time. Other than that, I'm open to suggestions. We'll be there in late July to early August. I don't know what seasons will be open then, but I'm not picky.
Gracias! Que viva Mexico!

Thanks again, Pon. You are correct, I will be in Buenos Aires, the capital city, for at least part of the time.

Hi,
You have to remember you will be at midwinter here.
What do you want to hunt?
Bowhunting and traditional bow?

Martin,
I would like to hunt with traditional gear. Since it will be winter, I'll be happy to hunt whatever is legal at that time. Red stag and fallow deer are the obvious choices, but I really do not know what other opportunities might be available at that time of year.
I'm no opposed to hunting with a gun if that is the only possibility, but I think you should PM me if that is the case.
Thanks.

I will go to Argentina in a couple of years (God willing) and there is 2 things I really want to do.
1. Wingshoot until I can't feel my shoulders from the shotgun recoil
2. Hunt wild hogs with a knife and a pack of "Dogos Argentinos"
as far as bow hunting I would like to shoot a capibara, I heard they taste great!

If I wanted wing shooting and boar sticking I'd look for a feller by the name of Juan Pozzi. He can hook you up, he's also bowhunting friendly.

Tastes like chicken! Or so my venezuelan born wife tells me. lol
I'd also like to take a trip down there and do some hunting.
