A Succesful TG Pheasant Hunt ( last pics on page 2)

What did you guys use for arrows - flu flu's or regular fletching? What kind of points?

Looks like a fun way to share time with friends.

Jeremy hooked us up with some of his Pheasent Spears and with the big heads he rocomends regular fletchings.

but the bird that Duffy shot was with a field point and Flu Flus!!!  I have the whole shot sequence on camera (about 20 to 25 pics) but I have to get them all resized first before I post      Its Pretty Cool!!!

Here are the last pics of our trip.

This sequence is of Jeremy Clark (on the right), Duffy, John, and my brother Thad drawing on a beutiful rooster and in the last pic if you look close Jeremys arrow is about 5 to 6 inches off of the shelf due to the weeds grabing it as he raised his bow to shoot!!

It resulted in a drifired bow, a very broosed arm and a lot of RIBBING from the rest of us on the need of haveing an arrow on the bow before you release     He was a good sport

There where several birds hit, some harder then others, some repositioned in the air by a foot or more but they all left us without a glance back........except two!!

On two differant flushes after all our arrows missed their mark the roosters landed in the trees next to the field and some tried to take advantage of the opportunity.  The first one was hit a couple times and as they waited for him to fall he simply recovered from the direct hits and flew off    

The chase was on,  he was on the ground now and headed back out to the edge of the field where another member of our party got a shot and hit it in the leg.......then it flew again!!

 Tough Ol Bird  :eek:  

We chsed after it but couldnt find him.
We rejoined the group and realized that one of the dogs was over where the bird went back down.

They found the dog in a hole under a tree where the bird had hid.  

So Im holding this bird but there where others that need credit for this bird as  well!!!

Hey guys I just wanted to chime in here! I was the faithful camera man! This was an incredible trip with some class act guys..

The entire atmosphere of the hunt was a great example as to why I enjoy trad and trad people so much. Every one was super friendly and I couldn't help but get the feeling that not only were we out there to try and shoot a few birds, but we were just happy to be amoungst our own kind, walkin around outside, shootin our bows and having a heck of a time while doing it!

Caleb did hunt most of the day with a solid
in-flight hit that resultid in only a couple feathers  

Looks like y'all had a ball of fun....just like I did a couple weeks ago doing the same thing down here in Tx. I have hunted 3 times now ans have gotten one rooster out of the air and a couple wounded birds off the ground. It is a hoot and I will be back for another try some time in the future.

ive been out of contact on a hog hunting trip and just saw this post,  i had no idea you guys were getting this good of pictures during the hunt. nice work camera man(he can hit birds and take pics, thats talent) i should have duffy's shot on  video but i havnt had time time to go thruogh the video yet. and hopefully i will have my dry-fire on video(my arm is still bruised) that was a classic!!! im glad you guys liked that one. lol

we may have some birds left over this year if anyone wants to have another hunt, we maybe can even have 2 hunts in march depending on how many kids show up for the youth gun hunt and how many birds they kill. It will be a cheap bowhunt if we can get a group, let me know if your interested


p.s. we have an old design from last year that goes along with the spear that works really well on those "going away shots"  the spear alone does not work well on those shots. we didnt originally put it on the market because of durabilty issues but now we have a more tough design,  some of the guys from tradgang are helping me test it, i will keep you posted on that.
