Rossco-

I shot hogs with 45lb bows. I like wood arrows  with sharp broadheads and good shot placement.

Fellow hunters-

As this 2013 HH Hog Hunt will be my FIRST bowhunt ever!!! (bowhunting is not legal in Germany) I would like to ask you for your advice and some hints on the set-up.

I will bring my Jerry Hill LB 69" 57@30" for this hunt. Wood arrows with 125 grs 2-blade-broadheads (Magnus Journeyman??)weighing about 585 grs total. Would this be sufficient for these critters?
Thanks for taking the time to share some info. I am really exited about this event. YEAH!

Vincent, I am very happy for you. I imagine that we can only a little bit understand how much it means for you to finally be able to bowhunt wild game. I am proud that you chose our country, and glad that you will be among such as Trad Gang can offer. There will be excellent hunters with high standards all around you, and I have no doubt that strong friendships will be forged as you live a hunt that will add joy to your lifetime of memories.

And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Shot this guy with 42#@28 Griffin...shoot whatever you use deer hunting.  Now if it's legal where you're hog hunting, the second picture might be appropriate...tippit

Killdeer-
thank you for your kind and wise words.

I feel honoured to read my name on this special hunt`s list among those great hunters and longbow enthusiasts - not to mention the outlook to stalk the same grounds with them, to share their fellowship at the campfire. What an adventure for a humble German archer..... I can`t think of a better company!

tippit, what was shot placement and how did you fare on the shield?  I shot this hog with a 50@28 Treadway Black Swamp at 18 yards, had double lung kill and the hog only went about 50 yards, but I had next to no blood trail and did not penetrate the off side shield.  I used GT 3555 arrow with 2 blade Zwickey Delta on a steel BH adapter--abou 525 grains total arrow weight.  The hog weighed right at 160#

The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.
