Although I have never Hunted the American Buffalo/Bison, the topic and subject hold an interest to me. It is my favorite meat of all game when I have an opportunity to get it. I request any of you Tradganger's to share you journey and hunts for the American Buffalo/Bison. Thank you in advance.

Bill Dunn (Zipper Bows) had a nice thread up on his buff/bison hunt last fall.  I couldn't find it on search for some reason.

You can hunt free range bison in WY. You don't need a guide on this hunt, you can go DIY. When/if you get a bull down, there is a pack out service that is well worth hiring.

Wy apps deadline for bison is Feb 29. Only $20 to apply, if you do draw, the tag is $2500  :scared:

I don't know what it costs for Utah, AZ, or going to BC. $2500 may not be too bad. These Wyo bison are FREE range and P&Y will accept them in the book. They are really good eating!

Here is one I shot 2 yrs ago...was sold as a 60,000 ranch hunt but ended up being in a 200 acre pen. In the end it was a nice test for my bow and arrow set up and the meat was the BEST I have ever had!
