Went to move my trail cam today and took a few pictures of the area I hunt behind my house on Shawnee public land. It's all hardwood ridges and hill top thickets boardered by either corn or soybean field...corn this yr.

Got to my camera and took it down...that's an Art Young hat from 3Rivers I got on.. Good hat.

Soon as I got way on back in where I do most of my hunting saw a rub that wasn't there when I killed an 8pt. in the same area this Oct.
Soon as I got down to one of the creeks me and my buddy came onto this fairly fresh kill...don't know if it was done by coyotes or cougar...I've seen both back in there and the dog had been acting cautous for some time. In one area he wanted to hang close around me, which he never does. After we came across it he just kept staring all around the hills and ridges like something was around. What makes me mad is I had my trail cam in my backpack and put it up on the kill and the dadgum thing wouldn't power up. What I get for a cheap trail cam..got a better on on the way. Nothing but rocks and hard ground in this area and couldn't find any tracks.
Found a lot of fresh turkey scrating along the ridge, but didn't see any birds. Saw them just about every day I hunted back in there last season.
On the way back out I go along the edge of the cornfield
There's a few rubs close to the field
Saw these ducks on the pond in the cornfield.
They saw me in the woods..
Oh well, going to be a long time before next deer season.
