Buckeye hunter... I officiate 150 - 200 games a year. When she says she needs an "extra hundred" for "whatever" I can usually dip into my "referee money" (which basically pays for toys, gifts, vacations, and my shooting activities - as well as emergencies)... She doesn't usually say too much about what I do or buy, 'cuz I make nearly as much in the 6 months I skate as she does cutting hair year around and probably bring in 7x as much from my regular job.

I wouldn't trade her for anything... she knows what makes me tick and knows when to\\not to make an issue of something....

Her PMS is very good as in very good with PUTTING up with MY S***!

I've got one of those "Well how much is that going to cost....You know how many bill we have to pay...." Well i started giving her a balance sheet every month now, and things are much smoother.

The last one cracked me up....I book US a reservation for a deep sea bottom fishing trip on the coast. We went down there, had dinner in a nice place, went fishing, walked on the beach...etc...etc...we had an excellent 3 day outing. on the way home she says we need to stop by the Casino...Says it's her birthday month, and has a free gift to pick up. I say "OK, but if we are going to play a bit while we are there, lets limit ourselves to an hour." (This trip has already been expensive.) She is not much of a gambler thank God. she'll make a 20 dollar bill last for hours on the penny machines.
So she gets her free gift and finds her penny machine, while i head for the ATM machine. I'm one of those kind of gamblers that say, "OK I'm going to piss away this much, and when it's gone, I'm done." So get myself $60 bucks and look over at this bank of slot machines that nobody is playing. i mean a whole line of them...so i walk up and put twenty bucks in this machine.....it only gives me 4 credits...I'm thinking to myself what's up with this? when i realize it's a $5.00 machine.....Yep...every time you pull the handle it's 5 bucks down the toilet....i hit the button a couple times and half my 20 bucks was gone already. I'm disgusted with myself here....... the 3rd time i pulled the handle i got 3 little 5 dollar bills in a row, and this machine starts making funny noises....i thought cool!!! i look down and I've got 385 credits now instead of two....this is very cool!!!...but it hasn't hit me just yet that these credits are 5 dollar bills instead of nickles. i ran the thing down to 320 credits way to quickly before i real thought about it, and cashed out at $1600!! This all took about 10 minutes time. i walked over to my wife and told her i got a ticket out of a slot machine for the first time ever, and showed her my ticket. She was ecstatic! WOW! $1600....so i cased it in, gave her a hundred bucks, and pocketed the rest. Then i sat down beside her to watch her play.... She says "Aren't you going to play anymore?" i said "Nope i got plans for my windfall here." On the way home i asked her if she had any objection to me taking a trip out of state to go hunt white tails.... she says, "When have i ever objected to your hunting? ....and then she adds, "As long as all the bills are paid, and the tax money is set aside. etc...etc..." and there she goes again....That woman is so tight she squeaks! That's when i started laughing....i asked her if she would rather i take my winnings and pay bills with it? Well she started sputtering a bit then....i just laughed harder. We are always going to have bills to pay.... better to live a little along the way, don't you think?
So i went out and bought me a tree stand, a plane ticket, and my tags very quickly after that....it's a done deal now, and got no complaints....a little sputtering i can deal with.....
About two weeks later we are sitting on the back porch, and she says,"You are really going to take that hunting trip huh?" I'm thinking to myself, "boy...here we go again..." She tells me that i COULD have set that money aqside for OUR vacation instead..... I told her i did stash $600 just for that purpose......More sputtering....LOL! I love it!!!!

I'm on the other side on this one.

We go to Florida every year and this year my wife decided she wanted to also go to Grand Cayman for a couple days since we were already halfway there in Florida. She was there as a teenager and always wanted to go back. I wasn't too excited because of the excess expenses but we could afford it and I'm always up for snorkeling and exploring the waters.

We go to Grand Cayman and spend a half day checking out the downtown shopping area. While were there she decides to buy a tanzanite and diamond ring...like it was nothing. No discussing it, nothing, just "Yep I'll take it!" Well that part wasnt quite in the budget!  I was a little miffed since at the same time the St Judes auction was ending. I was hoping to bid on a hunt that we discussed and other stuff but couldn't find an internet connection available in the country on a Sunday and ended up being outbid.

Anyways, looks like I'm holding my ace in the hole now. Hmm maybe pronghorn or alligator hunt next year?

On the other hand I can't really complain because she always lets me go hunting and if I do go out of state we combine the trip into a hunting/sightseeing vacation.

WOW, looks like I am not alone. Great stories guys.

Hey Jeff, maybe you should be a little afraid about your wife sending you on your trip. Wonder what she is gonna buy while he is gone.  :bigsmyl:    :biglaugh:    :biglaugh:    :jumper:

I would not worry about because she would have got the diamond any way sooner or later if she had her sights on it. :)Doing it this way you will be "paid in full" instead of haveing the trip hanging over your head forever.  :biglaugh:

Lol that’s a familiar scenario for me as well, I’ve had to add the cost of a Louis Vuitton handbag or jewelry on top of many hunting and fishing trips. Oh well, you have to do whatever it takes to get out in the field.

The Caribou hunt will surely be worth every penny, that’s a trip of a lifetime.
