Someone needs to create a lightweight backpacking tent that will collect rainwater runoff into a container for later filtering and drinking.
We used an extra poncho last year in Colorado and collected enough to save a trip to our far away water source!

Can probably do that with most tents now. Leave one supporting pole out, etc., to create a sag in the tent somewhere. Or insert a longer pole somewhere to create a peak/angle that will direct the water off the tent at a certain point. If the tent has an awning/flap, let it collect water and push it out toward one of the corners periodically to collect it. The possibilities are endless.
