Love my Whisper!
« on: March 11, 2012, 06:11:00 PM »
I've been shooting for quite a few years and have never shot a bow as well as I shoot this one.  It feels great in the hand, is forgiving of a bad release, and allows me to shoot groups like this once in awhile. (Not as nice as luvnlongbows Robin Hood, but extremely good for me.)  It's also extremely quiet - even with fastflight string.

Steve makes a great bow.

Congrats on your new bow! I have not shot the whisper, have both a Classic and a Shelton and my NM Classic is my favorite bow that I own. Steve truly does make a great bow!

I didn't see your bow in the picture. Do you shape your own feathers.

Whittler, I didn't post picts of the bow but can if you'd like.  Yes, I came up with that design a few years back while sitting in a few boring meetings.  I then found out that I could get a Vario chopper with a custom-shaped blade. Sold my burner (my wife is very happy) and used that money to buy the chopper.

Balding Eagle, if you dont mind me asking, what are the specs on your whisper, and what arrows are you shooting?

If it is not a hassle can you post pics of the bow?

John,  Very nice shooting!  I'm sure there's alot more where those came from, but just be sure to save a few shots like that for BBTC and Hide-A-Way .  God bless.

The specs are: 57# @28", 64"long. (Reverse handle)

bansheewins:
Here are some pics.  A man I met in England last June ordered a Whisper in Yew.  Very lightweight in the hand and very fast shooting.  The funny thing was, when he opened the bow box he exclaimed, "He built me a left-handed bow!"  Seems he forgot it is a reverse-handle - and he did it in front of a bunch of his club mates.  He still hasn't lived it down and will get some ribbing at this May's BBTC!
