Hey Gang

I remember some time ago there was a post where a guy was making a safari-tuff type quiver.

I've done searches, looked at the how-to's and the build alongs...just can't find it.

Any of our fine members able to point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

James Wrenn did one out of a map tube. He wrapped the out side with bamboo window blinds. At one time he had his own website that had instructions.

Thanks Benny.

I've seen some of the rigid tube builds.
Actually I had a simmons system tube for a while.
Never liked the hollow tube noise they made when a twig hit them.

Thought the safari tuff type looked like a good way to go, but the price is prohibitive right now.

I can't see doing a homemade version that is near the quaility that would be cheaper to build yourself...not even considering the equipment needed.

It's worth saving up for.

I'd imagine it's a pretty easy design to replicate. I have this sheet plastic, thick as kydex but more fleixble. I was thinking of making a safari tuff type quiver with it, and all you have to do is glue some type of camo cloth over it.

Why would you go to all the work and expense to come out with something less than buying the real deal.Listen,i have tried almost every kinda quiver out there.I bought a Safari Tuff and it is awesome.I use it hunting and 3 d's.You wont be disappointed. They are vey well made i might add.

Thanks for the input guys.

Haven't worked out the cost details of doing it myself yet.

I don't mind doing some work..fact is I have a lot more time than $$$.

Just thought I remembered seeing a how to on this.
Thought it would help me weigh the pros/cons of making one.

Thanks again for your thoughts.

I have made some similar tube type quives. I recently at a junk store, bought several fly rod tubes, cheap, but very flexible and sturdy, got a whole are load for $8. I had some camo cloth I got for next to nothing on closeout at Wal mart, and mades some nice quivers, with a little sewing, gluing and creativity. . The flyrod tube for the one piece made 2 quivers. A $2 nylon strab w/ buckle ala wal mart made the shoulder strap. Not a safari tuff by any means, but a buddy has one I made like this 3 years ago, 3d shoots with it, hunts with it, no problems and holds 6 arrows w/bh's and 8 or so field tips.

Just going on my experience trying to "save" money with some DIY projects...would have saved a ton by buying the one that was made right to begin with.

Hey Zradix, did you ever find this post?  I've been searching for it since borrowing a Safari Tuff from my BIL.  I'd also like to try the DIY approach.  Even if I end up spending close to the cost of a ST, I'd enjoy using a quiver that I had made myself.  It just adds to the experience IMO.

Thanks,
Rusty

Of course, as soon as I post the question, I found the answer (at least I think this was the one).

That may very well be the one
Thanks Rusty!

I'm thinking that having that plastic material round at the point end.
But maybe having it "sandwiched" and sewn at the other.

Thanks for bringing this up for me.
