McCullough 59er combinations??
« on: March 14, 2012, 02:36:00 AM »
I got a call from John and I am up for a new bow I think its been about 2-3 yrs. Anyway I have looked all over the net for some pics to get an idea of some of the diff woods and how they look and I cannot find squat. If anyone is willing to share any pics or info of 59ers they have or seen I would be great-full. I know it would be easier to send pics to my email and it is [email protected]
I realize this is an unusual request but I do not want to blow my chance to get some input from others who are more familiar with a particular bow. Thanks....Dave

In a few days I can let you know what figured Hickory and Wenge looks like. John said he was experimenting with these woods, he was rather excited about how it turned out. You got by easy, 4 years for me.

Maybe it was longer than earlier stated, keep in mind I am not sure where I was 2 days ago LOL!!. I spoke with John this evening an I have decided to go somewhat simple. I am going to go with Honduran Rosewood on the riser, with purple heart beam and stained curly ash veneers on the limbs. I am naturally excited, as I have only bought a couple of NEW custom bows but owned many as I am too tight (broke)to buy new. I own a Griffin and I just miss having a nice recurve as I enjoy shooting both. I still welcome any thoughts or pics, Thanks.....Dave

I think that you will like the 59ER. They are great bows and smooth shooting. I just wished that I had gotten one that was 48 lbs instead of the 40LB. I purchased it from John at ETAR and it was the only one that he had left. I could not wait 4 years. I just had to have it now. I think we all get that feeling occasionally. I cannot post pictures because I lack the skills to do so. Sorry about that.

Thanks Thomas, I have told John I want 46-48, hopefully he will hit the 48, but I told him I did not want to go below 45. I am very excited and very lucky to be able to cough up the funds upon the call. I told the Honey that there may not be another chance in this old guys shooting life time to get
one.  LOL!!!
