I HOPE to be able to take my bow along. The problem is I just had Back surgery June 25th & I haven't been able to shoot my bow since May. As of today the Dr still will not let me draw my bow. If he lets me start shooting VERY soon, I will try to use my bow, but I will have to wait & see if I can hit anything & if I can draw it with ease or not.

I would be more worried about stringing the bow than pulling it after back surgery...i have had a couple bad episodes with my back over the years, and i gotta be careful while using a bow stringer....different muscles....i wish you luck on your hunt!

Jeff,

Congratulations on the draw.  I'm one of those folks that was drawn on my first try in '95.  Got to shoot a cow.  I haven't applied since but think I might start putting my name in the hat again next year.  Good Luck.

Hello Jeff, Are you going with a guide? If so I know of one that does it off horse back ,if your back is up to it? If not I know of someone that charges 300 bucks for a cow on private property,it ticks me off though, that they charge, they complain that the elk are doing damage which they do but then they want to charge you to be able to shoot them. I guess we can't do anything about that. But i also know of some farms and a club that I would gladly share the numbers, with you. I also know of some state land that i might be able to show you on one of those weekends you talked about coming up here  if your interested? The only thing with the state land is there's going to be other hunters and guides and it's going to be hot and thick to try and find  the elk the first hunt you might do better on the state land the second hunt when the bulls become more vocal. Anyway my cell is 989-390-6735 except I'm having trouble chargeing my phone and won't be able to get it looked at until tuesday. I'm on midnights until tuesday morning also my home phone is 989-348-9488 or you can email me .Talk to you later .Gib
