Some new woodies
« on: March 24, 2012, 06:34:00 PM »
Laminated Birch burnt and fade-stained, left a couple unfletched to try bare shafting when I pick up a new-to-me Kohannah Kurve on my way back to MI early next month. Kinda plain but I think they look cool. I know they're heavy as heck and that's what I was going for.

Raw shafts:

After the flame job:

First dark stain for the business end:

Lighter stain up to where fletch will be:

Some pics failed to upload to Photobucket so here's the feathered ends of the four that are fletched up:

Thanks for looking!

Those look great.I did that to a tomahawk handle but never thought about doing it to arrows.

Thanks guys, this stuff is addicting. I shot other shafting for a few years after making woodies for years, but like has been said before only wood has a soul. Yes, even laminated Birch.    ;)
