WYOMING GUIDES/OUTFITTERS
« on: July 27, 2007, 01:02:00 PM »
I have been building some preference points in Wy for several years for moose and sheep.

Next year I'm probably ready for putting in for the actual draw.

I am ready to start talking to outfitters and learning the process they use...If I draw my own tags..what do they charge..etc

Who would you reccomend and why???
"Dad, you and me are bow shooting huntin buddies OK?"

Keith,

Check out Ron Morrison, Thunder Ridge Outfitters out of Casper. I have hunted with Ron 8 or 9 times and sent over 100 guys to hunt with him and have never had a complaint yet. He is not a bowhunter himself but he knows what it takes and he sure knows where the critters are. He spends every free moment all year long scouting for the big ones. Shoot me a PM if you want his #. I'm just back from vacation and catching up on what i've missed for past two weeks.

Talk to Tim Doud, Bliss Creek Outfitters, I'd bet he could help you out.

Keith....Best to do some homework to start with, the species you mention are area specific animals meaning that not all areas have them. The area that I am in has both, where as say south central has NO sheep and limited #s of Meese. Check out what the draw odds are for the area your choosing. Those are 2 of our most coveted Big Game Species. Go on line to Wyoming game and Fish there is a link with ratings for each Licenced State Outfitter and what they specialise in. Start contacting them and see what they have to say.
Barney and I are located in the Heart of Big Horn Country. I will help you with outfitters on my side of the Mountain and suspect that Barney would offer advice from his side. Look at both of those tags as once in a "LIFETIME TAGS"...........vance

Rob Arnaud with Arnaud Outfitters.  I'll double check the spelling, but they have some great hunting near sheridan, wy.
