Wasn't there a Boy Scout tent back in the 50's similar to this design? If I remeber correctly, it was made with the front panels that were vertical and the same width from ground to the top, leaving a narrower awning. In short it was like a Baker tent with a partially closed in front. The name I seem to recall was the "Camper" model. Any of you guys old enough to remember that far back? If so can you refresh my memory?

Yeah, canvas tents are neat. I haven't had one in a long time, but that may change. I like your design, especially for 1 person occupancy.

Sam, im not sure but it may be the Whelan style that you are speaking of. They are still offered by several of the canvas tent manufacturers, it is another very simple but great design. It was kind of the same design as the Baker. I may be way off base, but that is one that comes to mind right now.

No, moleman, I looked up the Whelan, and that doesn't match my recollections, which admittedly may not be accurate.  The design I recall is very much like the picture of your tent, except that the front panels were not more narrow at the top but were the same width from top to ground.

Did you actually make your tent or have it done by a manufacturer? I like it.
