How does the NM draw work?  Is there a typical number of years it takes to draw like in some other States?

In New Mexico everybody starts from even. You have just as good a chance as any Non-Guided NONRESIDENT. Guided Nonresident has slightly better odds and Resident has the best odds.

It will be interesting to see how the new tag allocation works out.
I've read a lot of discussion about it.

Around the Gila, how has the elk population been since they made 3 seperate bow hunting seasons? It has been several years since I have been there. The last time I was there, it was only 2 bow hunting dates. Trying to make up my mind on applying or not.

Thanks

Well, I applied. For unit 16b during the bow season there are only ES tags. That should increase your chances.

Good luck to all who applied.
