Bow Bolt TD System?
« on: March 28, 2012, 05:10:00 PM »
Does anybody know if there are any known issues/failures of the Bow Bolt TD System for longbows?

Thanks!!

never heard of the system itself ever failing.
but have heard of a few cases where the area around the bow-bolt have failed, eg, not enough wood to support it, or brittle hardwoods failing.

But installed correctly its the best system out there for a take down in my opinion.

I have Shrew Classic Hunter with it have only had since Kalamazoo but shoot it darn near every day no issues so far. I will say I do not take it apart at all.

Oh and Ron shot it quite abit before me and he had no problems.

Most Bowyers I have ordered through are prudently using Phenolic in conjunction with the bow bolt system, to ensure the integrity of this system.  My experience has been great thus far with the bow bolt in my longbows, as well as Recurves.

Give Craig Warren a call up in Maine.  He invented the bow bolt.  You can get the straight skinny from "the man".

He's a great guy to talk with.

I have 3. For me they are almost a mandatory feature and when properly installed they are the cats , you know. I like the weight and compactness.
